Prayer in the Square Day

(1)Today, we joined one of the biggest Christianity event in time square.
We prayed in the 46 st. and Broadway, which is the center of Manhattan; Manhattan is the center of NY, NY is the ceter of America, and the USA is the center of the whole world now.

I am so shocked to see so many people gather on street to pray and praise to God; because it is so hard to see this kind of ourdoor event in Taiwan. People from different countries, different regions came here only for praying to God together.

We pray to Lord to forgive our sins and pray for the nation and the youth; I feel this country is full of hope and blessing, because from the president, the mayor to the ordinary people, they pray! Most people know God and have the chance to go to church and learn about the Bible, it makes difference!

"By design this will be the third and final year of the rally, which may seem unusual considering its growth. Rhodes said between 8,000 and 10,000 people attended in 2007 and 18,000 came in 2008. Based on pre-event commitments between 30,000 and 50,000 are expected this year."

"264 churches in the tri-state area will be coming to pray, 62 youth groups and an estimated one hundred college ministries will be participating. 87 churches, 26 states and 19 countries, including Burundi, Pakistan, Kenya, United Kingdom, Benin, Singapore, and Israel, will pray via the live webcast at http://www.nycprayer.org/. The mayor of NYC, Michael Bloomberg proclaimed:

"Hosted by Times Square Church, “Prayer in the Square” provides an opportunity for all Christians – regardless of their age, race, gender, or denomination – to renew and deepen their commitment to our city’s spiritual community. In all our diversity, New Yorkers share an appreciation for the power of faith. After all, our city was built by people who came here in order to worship God freely. “Prayer in the Square” commemorates this legacy and celebrates our city’s rich tradition of cooperative spirituality.

Today, people from across the country of different denominations and backgrounds come together in their shared vision of a better world and their belief in the power of prayer to make a positive impact on us all. Since its establishment, this event has encouraged the faith of all those in attendance, celebrating their beliefs through praise and worship. With choir performances and prayers offered by church leaders and congregants alike, this hour is sure to be once again a powerful symbol of unity."

(4) 2 Chronicles:
7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
7:15
Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
